Maria Crockhart

Maria has worked for Aviva for over thirty years, she has held roles in claims, underwriting and change management. Maria is currently the Interim MD of Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) and sits on the UKGI Executive Committee, where she is responsible for setting the strategic direction, trading and underwriting performance and delivery (both profit and volume) of our UK SME business leading a team of over 800 people.

Maria previously held the role of Director of Digital, Automation & Schemes where she was responsible for our digital trading capabilities supported by a change and delivery team and the trading hub in Perth.  These teams delivered the day to day operation that supported Fast Trade and I-market in addition to building and developing our future capabilities. Under Maria’s leadership, Fast Trade has become an award-winning online platform, and is continually awarded five stars by brokers in the Insurance Times ‘Five Star Rating report’. Another key accountability Maria had was oversight of our UK Based Schemes trading, which supported access to customers and distribution in niche areas not accessible to our customers through open market trading.

Maria’s immediate focuses as Interim MD of SME are to continue to look at new product propositions and software house participation, the development of a new technology stack to open up new distribution channels and optimising growth in the mid-market by being effective in every demand.

On a personal note, Maria is married to Rob, lives in Perth and has two step daughters and one Son, and two grandsons. She enjoys Travel, Yoga  walking the dog, running and learning to play the piano.
